Neuhardt camp says Austria has thrown family values out the door

The campaign of attorney Sharen Neuhardt (D-Yellow Springs) is saying that opponent state Sen. Steve Austria (R-Beavercreek) has thrown family values out the door in the race to replace retiring U.S. Rep. David Hobson (R-Springfield).

The Nuehardt campaign is saying they've exposed Austria for taking thousands of dollars from a conservative PAC they call notorious for its annual fundraisers at Las Vegas strip clubs. 

"So much for family values, Steve Austria," said Neuhardt spokesperson Jessica Kershaw. "The voters of the 7th District deserve much better than someone who is willing to take thousands of dollars from a PAC that solicits money from professional gamblers. This is an act of desperation. You should be ashamed, Steve Austria." 

The Neuhardt camp says they've revealed Austria accepted at least $5,000 from U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions' (R-Texas) conservative PAC titled People for Enterprise Trade and Economic Growth. The PAC is known for its annual Las Vegas fundraisers.  

"Every year there's a different thing in Vegas in what is new and exciting out there," the Neuhardt quotes Sessions, in an interview with The Dallas Morning News.

The Neuhardt camp said that apparently the "new and exciting" thing for Sessions in Vegas this year was the Forty Deuce whose website states, "Jaws drop and drinks are ignored as the tempo picks up and the dancer steps up, shedding boa, gown and gloves towards the electrifying finale."   

"Steve Austria gave up Ohio values for Vegas values when he willingly accepted PAC money raised at a strip club for his personal political gain," said Kershaw. "We can't afford Steve Austria in Congress."
