Updated: A second ad from the campaign of attorney Sharen Neuhardt (D-Yellow Springs) has been pulled from online.
A Republican source told PolitickerOH.com that the ad was pulled because Huntington Bank, whose corporate logo was in the ad, called Ohio Democratic Party chair Chris Redfern threatening to press charges unless the ad was pulled.
The Ohio Democratic party flatly denied the call.
A previous Neuhardt ad featuring Clark Country Sheriff Gene Kelly was taken down after Kelly requested his image be removed from the ad. The ad was later put back up with Kelly gone.
Neuhardt spokesperson Jessica Kershaw said the voters of Ohio's 7th District Congressional District are fed up with the lies that she said opponent state Sen. Steve Austria (R-Beavercreek) continues to cook up.
"The Web-only ad was pulled because Austria's Big Money best friends asked for it to be pulled," Kershaw said. "What the voters should really want to know is why? It's shameful that Steve Austria is incapable of running an honest campaign."
The ODP called the allegation of the call "completely false."
More web videos?
Two ads pulled down, yet the kids over at the Neuhardt campaign put up another web video today. Some sort of movie trailer. Maybe someone who knows how to run a campaign would like to call them and explain that with five days to go, web videos aren't how you make up being down in the polls by 24 points.
And someone may want to inform Miss Kershaw that the reason these companies demanded you remove the ad is because you all BROKE THE LAW in the first place by using their logos. Isn't your candidate a corporate lawyer after all?
