GOP state House candidate in bar fight

Caroline Hergenrother: CarolineforOhio.comRepublican state House candidate Caroline Hergenrother was involved in a bar fight Sunday night after dancing with a man that was not her husband, according to witness’ reports collected by Salem police.
The police report of the incident was sent to PolitickerOH.com by liberal blogger Cliff Schecter, who is a communications consultant for the Democratic House caucus. The Salem police department confirmed the report is accurate.
The report said that Sunday night witnesses saw a female “dancing with a group of males that led to her husband becoming upset.” Witnesses identified the female as Hergenrother but she left the scene before officers arrive, the report said. Hergenrother was struck by someone, according to witnesses. Suspect Tyren Bowie said Hergenrother was “dancing with him and her husband became upset.” Bowie said in the report that Hergenrother was trying to keep the peace when she was struck.
Hergenrother is challenging state Rep. Linda Bolon (D-East Palestine) for the 1st district’s seat.
House Republican Caucus spokesperson Scott Borgemenke said there wasn't much he could add.
"I guess there was a situation that got out of hand and i think the story speaks for itself," Borgemenke said.
Borgemenke said he doesn't expect the party to ask her to remove herself as a candidate.
"She's scrappy there's no doubt that," he said.

It's about time the people of Salem find out what she is really all about. Not only is she not capable of representing Ohio, she can'te even run her own business or take care of her children; she pays everyone else to do it. Grow up, stay home and lay off the bottle.

Thank God I moved out of Salem years ago. Salem (and most of Ohio)has become a massive trailer park, and it's people like this who have run us that far into the ground. I really have to ask what qualifies someone to run for a state office. How did this thing get on the ballot? Is this the best we can do? Don't you at least have to pass a background check and provide dental records to run for a public office?

Wake up call
Caroline faces much bigger challenges than any political campaign. Those who know her are sadddened but not surprised by this story. We hope this is a wake-up call for you and your husband, Caroline. You've got to stop the drinking and get your (family) priorities in order. Forget about how you are seen as a candidate and start focusing on how your children see you. If you truly recognize this as a watershed moment and make the necessary changes, you will win a victory much more than any political office. Good luck to you.
